Mayhem Miller becomes a free agent.
There has been a lot of speculation as to when Mayhem's next fight in the UFC would be. From what we've heard his contract was bought out by the UFC whenever they bought the WFA. It was reported to be a 2 fight contract, he has only fought once for the WEC leaving one more fight on his contract. Josh Gross at sherdog.com is reporting that Mayhem is free from his Zuffa contract and is free to talk to other promotions. There's a hilarious quote by mayhem in the article:
"I like adventures," the enigmatic Miller said. "I'm the Lewis and Clark of MMA. More Lewis than Clark. Actually, whoever was tagging Sacajawea, I'm him."
Mayhem has quite a personality and is quite a self promoter. I would imagine that any promotion would love to have him. He has been doing broadcast work for ProElite.com alot here recently so i would expect him to sign with ProElite/EliteXC. Mayhem was the Icon Sport middleweight champ before losing to Frank Trigg. Icon Sport was recently purchased by ProElite, so my bet is that he'll end up there.
The article goes on to say that the split seemed to be amicable and that Mayhem has fulfilled his contractual obligations. Mayhem had this to say about his time with the WEC:
"I had a great experience with the WEC," Miller said. "They really know how to take of the fighters."
